Jimmy Binns: Motorcyclist and Philadelphia legend with a ‘Rocky’ connection

James “Jimmy” Binns, 85, of South Philadelphia, is a legendary lawyer and community figure who still rides his motorcycle daily. With a 60-year legal career, Binns has also held leadership roles such as president of St. Luke’s & Children’s Medical Center and Pennsylvania Boxing Commissioner—a position he portrayed in the film Rocky Balboa. Renowned for his philanthropy, he has been a steadfast supporter of the Philadelphia Police Department, donating motorcycles, gun lockers, and organizing the annual Hero Thrill Show to fund college tuition for the children of fallen first responders.
